Information
It has been a super-busy past few weeks, and we’ve had a lot going on. Thanks to parents and family members who have come out for the Zumba Show, the Music Sharing, and to those who are planning to attend the band sharing this week. It runs on June 15th at 9:00 am.
The detailed school calendar for next year is available here.
Summer School registration is still open at https://www.sd35.bc.ca/schools/summer-session/registration-information/ for students interested in extending their learning. Remember, there is no cost to Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents. If your child works with an SEA, though, the registration deadline is June 30 so that appropriate staffing can be determined and put in place in time for the start of classes.
On June 21 and 22, the Township of Langley Fire Department have open houses running in the evenings. What a great opportunity for kids to see what it’s like inside the community’s fire halls.

PAC Happenings
What’s happening this week with PAC?
* Wednesday is our last hot lunch of the school year and this time we are going GREEK.
* Friday is our teacher appreciation lunch. This is a day when the PAC holds a very special lunch to thank all the teachers and staff at West Langley Elementary for all their hard work and dedication to our children. The PAC is still in need of some main dish donations for the luncheon. If you are able to provide something, please contact Candice ASAP at candicedeniet@gmail.com
Looking ahead to next week
Tuesday June 21st will be our last PAC meeting of this school year. All parents are encouraged to come listen and discuss what impact the PAC had this year and plans for next year.
We also want to hear from you……please take a moment to complete the 10 question survey on line and let us know your thoughts. http://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RQF2DXL
Quote of the Week
Interesting Reading & Viewing
- I’m doing lots of reading of things like report cards these days, so this bit about words I sometimes take for granted and whose meanings have changed was interesting!
- Have you ever wanted to be ‘more creative?’ I’ve read the book How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci and struggled to try to implement some of his habits of mind. Here’s a smaller thing on how we can improve our creativity. And it includes Star Wars references, so I really like it!
