This Week @WLE – April 17, 2016

Posted: April 17, 2016

Information

  • Emergency Preparedness Week is May 1-7, 2016 http://www.getprepared.gc.ca/cnt/rsrcs/ep-wk/tlkt-en.aspx
  • Last Tuesday we had a fantastic Earth Rangers Assembly, thanks to Mrs. Clark who nominated us to receive the gift of that assembly. Inspired by that assembly, several of our students have decided to run a coin drive this week. It works like this: Bring a nickel on Tuesday, a dime on Wednesday, a quarter on Thursday, and a loonie on Friday! We are also part of the Battery Blitz. Thanks to everyone who has sent in dead batteries for recycling, and particularly Mr. Burwell who has already brought so many batteries I’ve had to order more shipping boxes to sent them back in. We’re saving so many from entering the landfill. Fantastic work, WLE!
  • Spirit Wear is coming! Order forms went home last week, and there is a sample set for fitting in the office if you aren’t sure what to order. Orders must be in by Friday, April 22.
  • Every year, the Ministry of Education asks students in grades 4 & 7, and their parents, to complete a Satisfaction Survey about their school. If you have kids in those grades, please take the time to fill in a survey. Access codes came home in student agendas for those grades on Wednesday last week. If you have kids in a different grade, but would like to complete the survey, we have some spare access instructions and codes at the office.
