Thank you, families for another fantastic year at West Langley. We are ready for a rest, but are also excited for September already. We hope you enjoy your summer activities, whatever they are, and that you learn unexpected things in unexpected ways and places!

Wednesday is the last day of school. Students will receive their report cards and be dismissed at 11:26 am.
You probably know that the curriculum is changing next year. Here’s the official website, if you’re interested in reading about the changes.
The school office will be open until 2:00 on Thursday, July 7.
The school office will reopen at 8:30 on August 29.
PAC Happenings
The PAC still has Panago Pizza vouchers for sale for $10. Each voucher is valid for a medium pizza at the Walnut Grove location. These vouchers offer a great savings to you and generate funds for the school. Depending on your flavour choice, that’s a savings of better than $5! 1/3 off! If you buy four, you’ll get those pizzas for the price of three.
Order forms are available in the office, and supplies are limited!

Interesting Reading & Viewing
Summer is here, and it’s always nice to get out and do something as a family. There are lots of festivals in the Lower Mainland, though not all are for kids.
As if I didn’t need another reason to love the CBC, they are streaming the last Tragically Hip concert ever on August 20, over all their platforms – radio, TV, web. I am pretty sure that there are a few of you parents attending (jealous), but for those who, like me, have the Hip as a part of your history, but don’t get to go. Set that PVR! And if you want to see them how I first did, check out this Canada Day 1989 show.
It’s one last bit of wisdom from Jessica Lahey, to go with Report Cards. If your kids are getting letter grades, please don’t ask what they got, but rather what they learned and what they can do with it.
