Information
- Jump Rope for Heart fundraising is ongoing, but it’s not so much going on. To date we have 16 Lions registered for online fundraising, and a total of $1300 raised. That means my beautiful coif is still safe. Let’s get going, Lions. You can register for the online fundraising here.
- The grade 7 Vancouver Giants Fundraiser game is this Friday. Thank you to everyone that purchased Giants tickets in support of the Grade 7 Outdoor Camp. Tickets will be available for pick up in the office on Wednesday and Thursday.
- This week is recognized as Respect and Diversity Week in Langley, with Pink Shirt Day right in the middle. Please take some time to talk about the meaning of diversity with your kids, and ask them about what they’re talking about in school. Remind them how different is beautiful and interesting and critical if we want to grow and learn. The provincial theme for Pink Shirt Day is #BeKind and focuses squarely on online bullying, but with the positive message of being kind. You can also work with your kids to #pinkitforward by using this hashtag with a positive message to someone on facebook, instagram, twitter, or whatever Social Media platform you choose. For each use of the hashtag, Coast Capital will be making a donation to support bullying prevention programs in BC.
- I’m not sure why you might want to leave this fantastic little school (except to go to high school, grade 7s) but I do totally believe in the value of outdoor education to, so there’s this for you to see. Note that there are spaces available for grades 3 & 4 next year, and there’s an information session on March 7 at Gordon Greenwood Elementary.

Spirit Wear
Pink shirts and West Langley spirit wear that was donated will be on display this week. You are welcome come and choose an item (free) for your child.
Hot Lunch – Wednesday
This Wednesday will be Pizza! If you ordered online, you will get an email reminder from Munchalunch with the details. It’s helpful to your class parent volunteers if you remind your kids what you have (or haven’t) ordered for them.
Room parents – if you signed up to be a room parent, you will have received an email from signup.com with upcoming dates. Please make sure you let us know if you cannot make it on a particular date. If you did not get the email, check your spam and/or email westlangleypac@outlook.com
Planning Meeting for Hot Lunches – Wednesday after hot lunch
Join us in the PAC room after hot lunch on Wednesday to share ideas and feedback about possible menu options. If you have feedback and can’t come, send your ideas to us by email and we will bring them to the meeting.
Our goal is to finalize a couple of parent volunteers that can organize the menus and ordering for spring, so we can keep the program going. We also want to hear from as many parents as possible, so even if you don’t want to be an official voluteeer, you can still come to the meeting and be part of the conversation. Also… free samples!! 🙂
